I am in support of the implementation of Creative Path Charter School. I believe in the mission and vision of this new school that will expose our urban youth to the juvenile justice system and instill a clear definition and/or understanding of the law to ensure a positive relationship to the criminal justice system.

Creative Path will provide the emotional nourishment and intellectual preparation a child needs to perform to the standards set by society. We expect our youth to build a vision for the future and walk into their chosen pathway to success.

The most successful programs are those that emphasize family interactions, because they focus on providing skills to educate the adults who are in the best position to supervise and train the child. (Peter Greenwood, 2005)

Goals:

Reduce the risk of youth dropping out of school
Maximize academic achievement by providing real-life connection
Encourage students to think about their behavior before they act and react
Develop career opportunities in the field of Criminal Justice as well as other professional careers
Help students gain the confidence to become role-models
Understand the dangers of youth violence and making the right choices
Develop a commitment to become life-long learners

Mission: The primary mission is to educate, enhance and cultivate youth and ensure successful transition to the next grade level, other educational settings and the workplace.
